I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and the value I got for the price paid. Kudos to LG for the features, styling and construction!!
I've had my LMV2055ST now for 2 months. I love the size, capacity, styling and features. There are so many features on this microwave not in many current microwaves; I would like to say they're all easy to use and beneficial. I chose it originally for its overall construction; metal handle, solid closing of door, door strength, value for features, capacity and styling. I did a lot of research and reviewed and inspected many units before I chose this one. This was a brand new design release for LG when I bought it, so I was concerned as I don't like to be the guinea pig but my past experience with LG appliances and comparable units available at the time helped me made my choice. Many units I compared it to, in my opinion, were not built as well, had less features and/or less capacity for 100-400 dollars more.

I have to admit, it was a pain to hang. Not overly difficult, but a pain none the less... Kind of like the old microwave brackets with the holes in the cabinet above. The paper templates are necessary but annoying. The unit is heavy, it needs the support of the brackets and above cabinet to be sure, but it wasn't as easy to hang as some other over the range hanging brackets/templates I've installed before. It took two of us to hold and hang it and it took about 30 minutes start to finish.

Compared to many of the other microwaves I looked at with the same or similar capacity, I definitely got more for my money with quality, features and styling than compared to what was offered by other companies. I recommend reading the directions, as although it's easy to operate, it has more advanced features than an older microwave (even high end) but a quick read through the directions will serve you well to take advantage of these features which are great. The soften and melt are cool!

I purchased the extended 5 year warranty due to the fact that my old Dacor microwave with an LCD panel fried due to the heat of my stove which is one step below a professional one, so I was concerned that the heat (BTUs)of the burners would effect the controls since their on the bottom (which I love!). I used this microwave during Thanksgiving dinner with all burners and oven firing away I had no problems and although it got fairly warm, it wasn't blazing hot or potential of malfunctioning. It states in the manual to mount the top of the microwave at least 30" away from the stove top, which is pretty standard. If it gets too hot there is a thermal protector that will automatically kick on, but my old one had that too and it ultimately didn't help me.

The venting is has been improved over the older style system, there is definitely less smell as I had apple pie syrup burning in the bottom of my oven during thanksgiving and it got rid of it pretty quick and the smell dissipated quickly.

The inside of this unit is huge 2.0 cubic feet!!! With the metal rack it is easy to reheat 2-3 plates at a time without difficulty. The back and forth glass tray -instead of round and round carousel, this one goes side to side - took some getting used to, we stared at it for the first week or so, but it does help heat food faster and more evenly. It pops off from time to time but not a big deal. The metal rack is great, but kind of flimsy. I would have liked to see it more substantial. It flexes when you put heavy stuff (almost full 9x11 glass casserole dish) on it but plates and leftovers are fine. But hey, before I couldn't even put that casserole dish in there so I'm not complaining too much....

The automatic time for the vent and the microwave itself is very convenient as well.

I am very happy and extremely satisfied with my purchase. I will update later on.
